Welcome to Brigadoon
Brigadoon Staff extends a sincere welcome to all our students and their families.
Kindergarten Registration for 2010-11:
Brigadoon P. S. is registering new junior and senior kindergarten students for September 2010. Children born in 2005 or 2006 are eligible for school in September 2010. Please call the school office at 519-895-2353 to register your child. Students already attending junior kindergarten do not need to register for senior kindergarten. Brigadoon P. S. will be offering all day, every other day kindergarten for the 2010-11 school year.
Wednesday, February 10 is Walk to School Day. We are promoting healthy living by asking all students either walk to school or take the school bus. There will be incentives and prizes at the school for participants.
Join the principal, Kristin Phillips, for "Cake with Kristin" on February 19 from 10-11 a.m. in the library. This is an opportunity for parents to engage in informal conversation with the principal about concerns and educational issues. While babysitting isn't available, there will be toys and colouring for toddlers. |

Brigadoon is a Junior School with approximately 500 students from Junior Kindergarten to grade six. We are building as a dual English and French Immersion site, and offer French Immersion classes for grades one, two and three. Our students go on to Doon Public School for grades 7 and 8, followed by secondary school at Huron Heights Secondary School. Please call the school if you are unsure about the school boundaries.
Brigadoon Public School has a dedicated staff that is committed to giving your child a sound foundation for learning and opportunities for development in a wide variety of areas. We believe in strong partnerships with parents and the community as we strive to build solid academic strengths and well-rounded young people within the W.R.D.S.B. framework of Learning, Caring and Connecting. Our intent is to recognize the growth and development of the whole child (intellectual, physical, social and emotional). Skills, values and attitudes focus on problem solving, coping with change, adapting to a world of rapidly expanding knowledge and technology, and collaboration. We believe that the learning process is enhanced if it occurs in a climate in which the learner feels secure. Brigadoon focuses on the Eight Keys to Success in a
school-wide approach to promote respect, values, and attitudes that are life-long characteristics. We have a strong environmental focus and have been certified as a Gold Level ECO School. |
